The families who get the most out of Inky are the ones who made it a shared habit — a bedtime ritual, a weekend activity, something their kids ask for by name. The best way to build that habit is to have someone you trust show you how they do it. That's the idea behind our referral program.

How It Works

When you share Inky with another family using your personal referral link, both of you earn credits when they sign up and generate their first story. Your credits go directly into your account — no waiting, no minimum threshold, no expiration period.

  • Share your unique referral link with friends, family, or anyone whose kids would love personalized stories.
  • When they sign up through your link and generate their first story, you both receive bonus credits.
  • Use those credits to generate more stories, unlock longer formats, or try premium art styles.
  • There's no cap — every successful referral earns credits. Share with five families, earn credits for five referrals.

Why Credits, Not Discounts

We built the referral reward as credits rather than a discount because credits are immediately useful. You can apply them to the next story your kid asks for tonight — no waiting for a billing cycle, no discount code to remember, no fine print about which purchases qualify.

Credits also work for any story type, any art style, any length. There's no restricted inventory or 'excludes premium content' clause. A credit is a credit.

Finding Your Referral Link

Your unique referral link lives in your account settings under 'Share Inky.' You can copy it, send it directly from the app via text or email, or share it anywhere you'd normally share something with friends.

If you're not sure who to share it with, start with whoever you talk to about parenting — the group chat, the school pickup crowd, the pediatrician's waiting room conversation. Parents who are already thinking about reading habits and bedtime routines are the ones most likely to actually use it.

The Thing We're Actually Hoping For

Referral programs exist to grow user numbers. That's real, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. But the reason we built this one the way we did — credits instead of cash, instant instead of delayed, no cap — is because we want the families who come in through referrals to have the same experience as every other Inky family.

A kid whose family found Inky because a friend recommended it should be just as excited about their first story as a kid whose parents found us another way. The referral is just the introduction. The stories are what keep them coming back.

Start With One Share

If you've had a moment with Inky — a story your kid asked to hear again, a bedtime that went smoother than usual, a reluctant reader who sat down and read something by choice — share that story along with your link. Personal experiences convert better than generic recommendations, because parents trust other parents.

One family at a time. That's how the good stuff spreads.
