Ariki discovers a tiny, humming pounamu stone hidden inside the bark of his favourite pōhutukawa tree by the beach. Recognizing that the stone shares the exact same gentle rhythm as the incoming tide, he feels a deep sense of wonder and connection. Instead of keeping it, Ariki carefully returns the stone to its special hollow, knowing it belongs with the tree as a keeper of the ocean's song.
